What a credit buys

1 credit GET /v1/me — your account, plan and live balance
5–10 credits One tool call — merge is 5 per task; most tools are 10 per file
5 credits Each OCR page — a 20-page scan costs 100 credits
10,000 credits ≈ 1,000 standard calls a month — the Starter plan, $30/mo

Credits only pay for API calls. Every browser tool — and everything else on this site — stays free.

API costs — the full list

What each call costs, billed from your balance in the unit the work scales by: per task (the whole job), per file, or per page. An empty balance refuses the call before any processing — top up and carry on.

Cheaper than the big-name APIs — and no expiry

The leading PDF API sells credits two ways: a monthly subscription (cheaper per credit, but unused credits burn every month) or prepaid packs (they keep, but cost more). We skip the trade-off — monthly or yearly, priced under both, and unused credits roll over instead of burning.

Credits The leading PDF API Free PDF Editor
10,000 $38/mo — expires monthly ($52 prepaid) $30/mo — or $25/mo billed yearly
30,000 $98/mo — expires monthly $60/mo — or $50/mo billed yearly
100,000 $329/mo — expires monthly ($440 prepaid) $150/mo — or $125/mo billed yearly

Their published credit pricing, October 2026. Per 1,000 credits we charge $3.00 / $2.00 / $1.50 monthly — $2.50 / $1.67 / $1.25 billed yearly — against their $3.80 ($5.20 prepaid). Their subscription credits are consumed every month; ours roll over, so nothing you pay for is lost.

Questions, answered

Do credits expire?

No. Credits roll over month to month and stay in your balance until you use them — on monthly and yearly billing alike. Cancel any time; nothing you've paid for is taken back.

How do I get my API key?

Buy a plan and the moment the payment is verified the Commercial plan activates on your account — then create your key in My Account. One key runs at a time; your plan sets how many you can create.

What does an API call cost?

Light calls like GET /v1/me cost 1 credit. Heavy tool calls — merge, compress, convert — cost 10. The endpoint list and per-tool rates grow as the API leaves preview.

Do I need credits for the browser tools?

No. Every browser tool — edit, merge, split, compress, OCR — stays free forever. Credits only pay for API calls.

What happens when my credits run out?

Top up by hopping to the next plan — balances add up, and mixing plans is fine. Nothing changes on your account until you choose to buy.

Can I get an invoice or a custom plan?

Yes. Payments are invoiced, and larger volumes are shaped with you directly — preview the API and apply for a key, or write to the team.

Ready when you are

Start on the free plan today — pick a monthly or yearly plan the day a project needs the API. That is the whole idea.
